Version numbers

The xAct packages follow a version system formed by a number (like 0.9.8) and a date (in Wolfram Language notation: {2008, 11, 23} stands for 23 November 2008). The packages cross-check their dates to ensure consistency.

Current version

The current version of the system is 1.2.0 of 17 October 2021. All packages are downloaded together as a single file

• xAct_1.2.0.tgz for unix/linux/mac
• xAct_1.2.0.zip for MS windows

An exception is the database of identities of the Invar package, which has to be downloaded separately because of its large size. Contributed packages can be downloaded from http://contrib.xact.es.
